Overview
The Rose Parade, also known as the Tournament of Roses Parade (or simply the Tournament of Roses), is an annual parade to mark the start of the Rose Bowl Game, held mostly along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, on New Year’s Day.
The Rose Parade travels 5 ½ miles down Colorado Blvd. and features four types of entries: floral-decorated floats entered by a participating corporation, non-profit organization or municipality, equestrian units, bands, and Tournament Entries. Rose Parade participants have long histories with the Tournament of Roses and keep the traditions alive.
The earliest Tournament of Roses welcomed 3,000 spectators to its first parade filled with beautiful, horse-drawn carriages covered in flowers. More than a century later, the parade floats are a marvel of state-of-the-art technology, all tucked away beneath flowers and other all-natural materials.
The Rose Parade features three types of entries: floral-decorated floats sponsored by a participating corporation or community organization, equestrian units, and marching bands. The only cars that appear in the Rose Parade are those that may carry the Grand Marshal, the Mayor of Pasadena, the Rose Bowl Game Hall of Fame Inductees, and the Tournament of Roses President. Many of the Rose Parade’s participating organizations have long histories with the Tournament of Roses and have made numerous appearances in the parade.

ALOHA & E KOMO MAI (WELCOME WITH THE BREATH OF LIFE Your first experience of “Aloha” begins with your arrival, where you will be met at your arriving gate with Traditional Flower Lei. You will then be escorted to baggage claim, where porters will take care of getting your luggage from the carousel and your host will escort you to your waiting vehicle for transfer to your Hotel.
You will be greeted with a welcome gift of Aloha at your hotel by your Local Escort. Bellmen will deliver your luggage and you will be escorted to your hospitality desk for check-in.
The island of Oahu is called the Gathering Place so this evening is on your own to explore and relax.

Honolulu’s City Highlights
This Narrated Driving Tour of the city winds its way through The National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), Washington Place -which is the Governor’s Mansion, The State Capitol Building, Chinatown, Iolani Palace, and the King Kamehameha Statue.
Iolani Palace
You will make a stop to enjoy a docent guided tour learning about the kings and queens of Paradise at the only Royal Palace on American soil. The Palace was the official residence of Hawaii’s monarchy and has been restored to its original opulence.
Duke’s Waikiki – Welcome Dinner
Duke Kahanamoku was known as Hawaii’s Ambassador of Aloha and the legend lives on at Duke’s Waikiki. This evening, you will dine on Polynesian Fare in an open-air beachfront setting as the sun drops off into the blue Pacific.

Circle Island-Volcano Bus Tour
On this full-day bus tour, you’ll cover the very best of the Big Island. There are several photo-worthy moments along the way, including a spectacular view at Kealakekua Bay Overlook, the historic location known for the death of Captain Cook.
